Eminem aside:<\/strong>\u00a0Maybe you missed the statement by singer\/songwriter\/actor\/8-miler Eminem, but he hates techno.\u00a0 Techno, prog, indy, rap, country, classical, metal -it is all music to someone.\u00a0 Just not Eminem.\u00a0 So what does this have to do with architecture?\u00a0 Or with California for that matter?\u00a0 (California???)\u00a0Well, frozen music lovers, Moby, yes Moby, has a new architecture blog.\u00a0 So, Eminem aside, let’s take a look at this new entry into the blogosphere.\u00a0<\/p>\n A decade or so ago, we remember being in certain studios and hearing tracks off of 18\u00a0<\/strong>wafting through the air.\u00a0 And, Moby has made a lot of music before and after that album.\u00a0 For some strange reason, that album sticks in our minds a decade or so later.\u00a0 Now instead of listening to the music, or in addition to it, we can read about Moby’s interest in Los Angeles architecture on his new blog:\u00a0 http:\/\/mobylosangelesarchitecture.com\/<\/a><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n This is the guy who proved that one guy alone could make music.\u00a0 And, after making the music, sell it to millions of people worldwide.\u00a0 This is the guy who was part of an episode on a\u00a0nationally syndicated sit-com:\u00a0 How I Met Your Mother<\/em>.\u00a0(Moby shares a limo with\u00a0part of the cast on the way to a\u00a0party.) \u00a0And this is the guy who has restored Hollywood Hills houses.\u00a0 And\u00a0now\u00a0Moby is writing about Los Angeles Architecture?\u00a0<\/p>\n Once the Moby-part of the equation sinks in, we suggest that you take some time, visit the blog\u00a0and read through the entries.\u00a0 At the end of the day, this guy is not only an internationally known music artist, but he is also someone who loves architecture.\u00a0 It\u00a0comes across\u00a0in his writing, which is humorous, eclectic and sometimes esoteric. Here is one\u00a0tidbit from Moby’s blog:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0i can imagine the prison conversation:<\/em> We think that many architecture fans can identify with the feelings behind this blurb, as well as the actions that resulted in imprisonment.\u00a0 Um\u2026 at least the architecture reference.\u00a0 (Hopefully not the gun\/bank\/meth references.)\u00a0 This blog, like\u00a0his music itself, \u00a0is fun, unexpected,\u00a0and all over the board.\u00a0\u00a0Eminem aside (not that we don’t\u00a0or can’t dig Eminem), we recommend it.
