The Commonwealth Medical Education College is the first Allopathic College of Medicine to open in Pennsylvania in approximately 60 years. The new facility serves more than 500 students with 175 full-time equivalent faculty members, plus support personnel. Highland Associates designed the project in collaboration with HOK. The 4-story 119,000 square foot East Wing includes a 250 seat auditorium and two 190 seat lecture halls, where FlutterFree® was utilized to both enhance the natural acoustics of the spaces and promote cross communication in the learning environment. The Mellow Mushroom pizza chain assigned the construction of its new restaurant, located in Charlotte, North Carolina (USA), to the architecture firm Tobin Starr + Partners.
