The extension of the admin building is clad in Natural Zinc diamond shingles. I found this project interesting since we use only zinc with a factory induced pre weathering zinc here in North America. Natural Zinc out of the rolling mill is shiny and develops an even grey patina within two to five years. This change is quite dramatic and the building appears to be different every day.

The new Dinosaur museum housing footprints and fossils in SW Korea was created to preserve this national treasure for future generations. The architects HongSik Kim & SangSik Kim have chosen VM Zinc to create the three distinctive shaped buildings evoking the different creatures that roamed the area in prehistoric times.

In Hamburg, this 5-story office building project designed by LHD Architects has opted for dark ANTHRA-ZINC® with interlocking panel cladding as its style statement. The second (tall) picture tells an interesting story. If you look closely you will see a lot of graffiti on the neighboring brick building and the zinc building is not tagged. Zinc is a noble building product, even graffiti artists seem to respect it. This project was built  in 2006/07. It would be interesting to find out if this has changed over the years.

Did you know that the chrysler building was the world’s tallest building for 11 months? Designed by Brooklyn born architect, William Van Alen it stands at 1,046 feet tall. Iy was overtaken in height by the Empire State Building (1,250 feet tall) in 1931. Located in East Manhattan, NY it is a distinctive landmark that  youcannot miss.
