Falmouth School UK: David Pierce of architects Urban Salon explained We wanted the building to appear as a series of folded planes, with the walls and roof clad in the same material. It was crucial that the product we specified worked as well on both surfaces, and using Anthra Zinc meant that we didn’t need to compromise on this.
An out of the box design and sophisticated engineering presented us with opportunities to expand the possibilities with Prodema ProdEX. We collaborated with the engineers behind the Community Boathouse project to bring solutions never used before. The School is also located in the City of Chicago where we find some of the strictest Fire Codes in the country. Both exterior and interior Prodema materials were used. The German Museum of History (DHM) in Berlin uses Clearsorber foil in its courtyard. Clearsorber foil is a thin perforated foil that can be used for acoustics. In this specific project the designer build a glass ceiling to make the courtyard an interior space. The space was to be used for concerts and events. After inclosing the courtyard it turned out to have horrible acoustics. The solution was to install Clearsorber foil in front of the ceiling. It helps improve the acoustics but still keeps the design intent.

The Arctura water tower holds 6.8 million gallons of boiling water that is used to heat homes in the surrounding region. The 215 foot high structure, wrapped in an almond-shaped curtain of stainless steel, stands on a hill above the local ski station of Östersund, which already makes it a landmark for the area. A restaurant with this spectacular view has been installed on top of the tower. Lighting experts LjusDesign were engaged to design the tower’s illumination. This light design, which is projected onto the metal fabric by means of LED fixtures, was inspired by Arcturus, the ‘provincial star’ of Jämtland and one of the brightest stars in the northern hemisphere. The lighting program adheres to astronomical time. During the long winter nights, the tower mimics the ‘northern lights’ display until about an hour before sunrise when it burns steadily. This ‘sunrise’ effect lasts for about an hour after the real sun has risen. Designed by Sweco FFNS. The project is located in Östersund, Sweden.
