Verdi Cinemas is a Barcelona trademark for those who love good movies. The Verdi’s screening of films created by auteurs has made a complex synonymous with quality cinema. For its 20th anniversary in 2007 the cinemas decided to renovate its auditorium. The goal was to be able to offer outstanding comfort as well as great films. Staircase Special! Look at those projects using Crisand glass for staircases. The projects show different application of glass in a staircase. The Art Gallery project in New York for example does not use any metal elements just the glass to hold the stairs in place. If you look closely in the images the staircase almost disappears. This project is the Four Points Hotel Elysee Palace in Nice, France. The design team used Clipso technical fabrics with several different prints to give the hotel rooms a special touch. Samuel Anderson Architects designed this office for KPE in Westwood, CA. By leaving reveals in between the aluminum Illusion panels with a Sateen finish the architected created an interesting ceilings design. Classical architecture benefitted from the fact that wall and ceiling surfaces contained texture in the form of relief ornamentation, coffered ceilings, etc. providing sound scattering which improved the acoustics of these spaces. Modern architecture is devoid of these sound diffusing surfaces and typical contain flat reflecting surfaces which do not scatter sound, but rather redirect sound, like a mirror reflects light. RPG has developed a series of diffusing surfaces, called Waveform™, which complement contemporary architecture, in the way textured surfaces complemented classic architecture.
