Professional architectural pictures always show you the most beautiful building. I think it is much more interesting for the design professional to find out how the stainless steel mesh, is installed and attached to the building. Find specific details here:http://tiny.cc/zz8mr

The Amgen Helix Pedestrian Bridge” by Johnson Architecture and Planning celebrates complexity, which is apt, since it serves as the gateway to The Amgen Research and Development Center, in Seattle. The bridge’s pair of canted arches emulates the twists and turns of a double helix DNA form and are in sharp contrast to the parallel lines of the Burlington Northern railway tracks below. http://tiny.cc/3xs0g

Falmouth School UK: David Pierce of architects Urban Salon explained We wanted the building to appear as a series of folded planes, with the walls and roof clad in the same material. It was crucial that the product we specified worked as well on both surfaces, and using Anthra Zinc meant that we didn’t need to compromise on this. More:http://tiny.cc/7b4to

Winecenter

A new retail outlet, called the “Winecenter” was constructed for the Winegrowers’ Cooperative in Caldaro, a well-known town along the South Tyrolean wine route in Northern Italy. The skin made of coloured concrete reinforced with fibreglass stretches across the exterior walls and roof, emphasizing, along with the flush window surfaces, the monolithic character of the building. thankful california-11-11 project of the month:  we almost missed the end of the month without our regular project of the month feature.  we are in toronto this week for the construct canada show.  (www.constructcanada.com).  so, before the month slips away (in about one hour) allow us to share this beautiful pigmento green zinc project with you.

this is the temple sinai in oakland, california.  worth the drive if one is in the bay area, this beautiful project contrasts the existing temple with the new addition by michael harris architecture.  (http://www.mbh-arch.com/)  in addition, michael harris contrasts vertical and horizontal elements of the addition and echoes those moves in the orientation of the zinc standing seam panels.

the project was installed by peterson sheet metal and the photography was shot by gilbertson photography. we are thankful to share it with you -this month.  enjoy. =vm
