Classical architecture benefitted from the fact that wall and ceiling surfaces contained texture in the form of relief ornamentation, coffered ceilings, etc. providing sound scattering which improved the acoustics of these spaces. Modern architecture is devoid of these sound diffusing surfaces and typical contain flat reflecting surfaces which do not scatter sound, but rather redirect sound, like a mirror reflects light. RPG has developed a series of diffusing surfaces, called Waveform™, which complement contemporary architecture, in the way textured surfaces complemented classic architecture.
